  1. Who did the grinding and the finish? Were they done in Japan or U.S? Chris, no offence but I think you're getting a little too obsessed with the question "Japan or U.S." haribo None taken, Its in my opinion there is a big difference between the two in regards to scratch.
  2. With the release of the GAF1 Fairway woods by gauge design Japan there has been RC players making the switch. RC players are considered very loyal with many not having endorsement contracts. Gauge Japan was able to take 4 JPGA tour players from RC recently. Royal Collection is coming back with some new designs, Check it out. This is the New CV pro, The differences are a Deeper face and a larger sole area. It will come with a closed face :-D There are square face versions in the pro's bags now for testing, the stampings are not final yet but will match the new blades and wedges Royal Collection released several months ago. There are rumors of a GAF2 FW that has a shallow face and tungsten weighting coming from gauge japan in 2005.
  3. Your 983E 9.5 is over 10 degree's. I have a problem with titleist giving customers higher than stated lofts. Please check it out yourself, last year i checked and something like 19 of 22 drivers were over half a degree up in loft. some 9.5's were 11.2 :wah: Every Tourstage prototype driver I have had has always played to or close to loft. i would guess less than a half degree difference at the worse
  4. Who did the grinding and the finish? Were they done in Japan or U.S?
  5. Yes it is true, Many of you have purchased Gauge Cb's ( heads only ) and noticed the Kyoei sticker with date manufactured, by whom, and the exact weight in grams. Kyoei Vega, is not a brand i would suggest, they are currently a mess, no stable accounts, No product design that stands above the rest. Only now we see the proto irons from 2002. If anyone is still interested I can get them no problem, I do not suggest them against whats on the market now.
  6. Just the limited 1000/1000 shafts are very expensive. I wonder why, the custom paint job? :-D Anyway Im sold its going in my TS driver now
  7. Ok I found the specs, DIAMANA83 硬さ&重量:S(79g) X(83g) トルク:3.2(S) 3.1(X) 調子:中元調子 DIAMANA73 硬さ&重量:S(69g) X(70.5g) トルク:3.2(S) 3.1(X) 調子:中元調子 DIAMANA STINGER 硬さ&重量:S(74.5g) X(75) XX(78g) トルク:3.2(S) 2.8(X,XX) 調子:中元調子
  8. No its a 60 degree. The sole grind is of the Mizuno T Series.
  9. From what I hear the new ARMARQ Series by Honma is the best weaved and most expensive shaft to make. Companies like Mizuno Japan are coming out with weave shafts. There is a new Butt stiff 460 and a bunch of other new types that are very high end just released this month. Look forward to Tourstage & Srixon getting in on the action producing Fuji/GD quality retail shafts at hefty upgrade prices. The Japanese mags have listed Goosen with the Diamana, I honestly dont know for sure. This is the Diamana Stinger, not sure on the specs or anything.
  10. Only 1000 of these shafts made and the same one Goosen is using in his R7 the Diamana has been getting some really great reviews. It was just released this month and I have a couple on order to test out. Check it out: This shaft contains the new Boron inside and comes in a plastic case with a cap. Each shaft has ##/1000 on it and costs a silly 500 bucks!!!! I was only able to get 2 pieces before they sold out. 450.00 each is what I'm selling them at shipped.
  11. Opps, I forgot to mention guys, There are two types of this white sticker. Most of us see the ones that come on every Japanese wood retail. The Pro's stickers are more detailed and personalized.
  12. Only average, it will fade around the impact areas for sure.
  13. To be honest I don't know, I never wasted my time buying a Tour R7. I have hit them yes but I still rate the M.A.X, Retail U.S, then TP before the Tour version. They are all the same pretty much, The Tour probably has a face angle fit to a pro and maybe a few grams heavier without the weights.
  14. Usually its for woods, some players have it on their irons it is a run down of that clubs particular specs. Head weight Total weight CPM's Face angle etc...
  15. Yeah i saw that also, The combo set your talking about should be a limited edition thing coming to Japan. I'm not for the 3 tier combo 27/30/33 unless they grind the sole to match each other and adjust the top line as well. Several TSG'ers have bought 3 tier combos and have mentioned even with the same lofts & Lie the distances are not consistant and the trajectory's are very different. 2 tier is cool but like 27's in 3 & 4 but anything more becomes a feel/distance/consistency issue. Each model has a different location for its Center of Gravity.
  16. Here is a tiny pic of the new Irons Maru and Izawa were testing this week. Maru was hitting his MR blades and these new proto's Izawa was hitting the new X-blade 2005 and these new Cb protos. Also If anyone is interested in the NeW maru 2004 wedges here is more info: Release is Nov.19th with a retail price of 60,000yen. This is the exact same wedge as the earlier 2004 model this year. The only difference is the material which is supposedly taking off on the JPGA tour.
  17. Sorry I didnt reply. If they make it I can get it for you. Please drop me a PM.
  18. Tourstage has some new X-blades coming & Srixon's pro 100's are very soft. I would guess the softest you could go is the Scratch Tour Blade with a 3Xblack finish.
  19. Chris, do you have any? Can they be found anywhere in your part of the woods? No idea sir :wah:
  20. Yeah Who is hording all the J340's? please PM me if your that person....
  21. Mr. Ishihara takes only 3-5 weeks to finish a set of MOZ Irons. Am I hearing you correctly? June? Scratch is supposed to be 2-6 weeks :-D
  22. This is just my Opinion but the Custom Wedges/Irons hand made in the U.S by Scratch Golf still have many grind quality issues. The Scratch OTR ( Off the Rack ) Wedges are Hand done by Mr. Ishihara's two assistants, The grind quality is good and they are finished beautifully using the same plater as MOZ. When you look at an MOZ wedge the grind work is always flawless even to the most critical eye. Mr. Ishihara does all of the MOZ on his own. His work is famous in Japan. Godfather1 who is finishing and grinding your set?
  23. I have received many questions about the look and durability of the Mizuno Flat Black, Black Ox, & Oil Can finishes. I have seen them all in person but only own Satin & Flat Black mizzy's. Here are some pics of an MP33 8 Iron M stamp black custom made. I really liked the new T-Series wedges by Mizuno. I highly recommend the OTR U.S version or the Japan Customs. The T head is my ideal perfect wedge, Mizuno has the most talented grinders IMO. The finish is smooth with no flaws, They will wear just as any other black finish does. Wear does give it a really nice style, If you use Iron head covers the entire back & Top remains black, only its face and sole will see normal wear. If your a good ball striker you will only see silver on the sweet spot like ZIP1111 and his 690's, If you hit the ball like me the entire face will eventually turn silver
  24. I agree, the non Custom, OTR Scratch Irons that are built in Japan have the same material, and finish MOZ is known for. Mr. Ishihara is not doing the grinding on these himself, he is using his two aids, as I am told by golf ya. The finish on the Scratch OTR's have the same translucent finish as some of the MOZ wedges.
