I am letting this rare set go as I am now playing mainly with a new set of 703 and just have too many sets of irons to rotate with this set gathering dusk. The condition is good (8.5/10) but not mint as Epon irons are just very soft, especially with this particular finish. The set is definitely not abused as I am the only owner. That's an interest twist on the SW. Instead of opening up the 58* like some of us do for bunker, you use the 64* square and have the same result/effect of an open 58*. However I am just not sure about the 70*.

Those you have mentioned are a bit of mix bag. I would consider a few are players CB with the exception of PHYZ. If you are really looking at GMI, look at TM Gloire Forged, OnOff Red VG3 E type or XXIO. If you willing to spend, go with a custom set of Epon 703.

I honestly think that snap hooking is a swing flaw/fault and less of an equipment issue. I was driving well then all of a sudden I snap hook every drive. Snap hook is an issue for me even with a slowish swing and I could imagine Major D problem with his 150 mph swing.

In a sense, there is some truth in what your playing partner was saying. You shouldn't change just for the sake of changing but change to better equipment with the ultimate objective of improving. One of our problems is that we don't give the new gear enough time before we change again. I have two new set of Epon irons for the past 24 months (551 and 703) but I play really well now with a 20 years set old Honma LB280 with stock 4 star shaft. Go figure.

We are all gear junkies here or else we wouldn't be here. Having said that you still need to play the game decently. There is no point in getting the latest driver or the best and softest blade when you couldn't play worth a damn. Don't be a driving range golfer. I try to go out as many times a week as possible from my minimum of 2 to a max of 5. With the best equipment, you would try your best to beat the other guys and take their money or at least so,e bragging right. Improving is still definitely an ultimate objective.

For my own putter education, what are the differences, value or feel wise, between the machine mill Emperor II or handmade burning copper Emperor or shogun or kamakura. Are they all made by the same guy but using different material or method? Is the burning copper milled in a block of copper or just a finish?
